Secret pet monster

Long ago, humans fought many wars to create countries.
They built their empires by cutting down forests, killing animals, and destroying nature.
They dreamt of greatness and power, always wanting more for themselves and their descendants.

To justify their cruelty, they told stories that made them heroes and painted their victims as necessary sacrifices.
They created a world where a few held power, and the rest of them lived as slaves.

These slaves were forced to live by the rules of their masters. Their pain and suffering were ignored, and those who died from overwork or hunger were quickly forgotten.
Over time, the rulers created systems of race, and status, splitting people into categories to keep themselves on top.

But something else was created too – monsters. They formed inside the slaves, born from fear, pain, and loss.
These creatures lived in the shadows of human hearts, drawing strength from their darkness.
Slaves knew of their existence, but to survive, they could only make rules to keep their monsters hidden.
They didn’t speak of them, but every household had at least one.

As time passed, the monsters grew like secret pets, their numbers started rising quietly within each family.

The rulers and kings eventually fell, and their countries dried.

But instead of freedom, the slaves turned against each other as they knew the power of hierarchies.
They fought over the remains of these broken empires, wanting to claim the power once held by their oppressors.

Some were guided by their own monsters, who whispered promises of strength and control.
But others with kind souls without monsters of their own, were left helpless, shamed, and criticized by their fellow slaves.

These kind spirits tried to create a world of liberation, equality and peace, but without the power and ambition yielded by monsters, they failed each time.

Meanwhile, the monsters started building their own lands – terrains of darkness, no longer hidden, where they ruled openly.

This was when some humans chose to become slaves to the very creatures they once kept in the shadows.

New Power

With kings gone and the world in chaos, the monsters saw an opportunity. They stepped out of the shadows.

Each monster started controlling a territory. And humans came seeking power, hoping to win the monsters’ favor ( believing promises that were never meant to be kept)

Monsters enslaved the humans who came to them, turning them into servants.
(The slaves, who once fought each other, were now caught between serving monsters or being destroyed by them)

Some humans, desperate for power, became monsters themselves. They gave in to their darkest feelings —anger, envy, and hatred—until they were no different from the creatures they once feared. Those without monsters were yet again weaker and vulnerable, and they struggled to survive.

A Flicker of Hope

Amidst this darkness, a small group of people began to look for another solution to the misery. They didn’t want the power or to become monsters. They created laws of kindness and freedom—not just against ruling population, but also for the monsters that resided within themselves.

They called themselves the “Educators”.

Instead of fighting the monsters, they tried to understand and empathize. They learned that the monsters were born from human emotions—fear, pain, and anger.

If these emotions were faced and dealt with, the monsters would lose their strength.Educators traveled across the monster lands, talking to those who had given up hope and teaching them how to face their inner darkness.

It wasn’t easy. Many failed and were consumed by their pain and fear, becoming twisted versions of themselves.

But a few succeeded. They didn’t destroy their monsters, but instead, they accepted them. This acceptance made the monsters smaller and weaker, turning them into something less dangerous.

The humans who managed this became stronger—not because they had monsters, but because they understood themselves.

The End of the Monster Rule

Over time, more people began to face their monsters instead of feeding them. Slowly, the monsters started losing control over the humans. The lands once ruled by monsters began to decline, and the creatures that had been so powerful began to retreat into the hearts of their hosts.

The world was still scarred by centuries of pain and fear, but for the first time, the humans were no longer divided by masters and slaves. They began to build a new world—not one where they denied their monsters, but where they lived with them, understanding that everyone has darkness inside. Instead of running from it, they learned to accept it.

For many, the monsters did not disappear.

They just knew their monsters and identified being a part of them. Some of them proud, some of them in shame.
But all of them saw the true reflection of the pain, helplessness, agony and anger they had felt in their lifetime within these monsters.

Few learned to control them, keeping the monsters chained, small and harmless.
And these few humans started building life and light where inner power was sourced from learning and accepting one another.

And just like that, humankind was built again with both darkness and light.
